Privacy policy

This policy explains what Validmailbox does with information when you use validmailbox.com. It covers the data you type into the tools, the data your browser sends automatically, and the cookies set by our advertising partners.

Data you enter into the tools

Email addresses, subject lines, body copy, domains, DKIM keys and warmup figures are processed in your browser. With one exception, none of it is transmitted to our servers, written to a database, or retained after you close the tab.

The exception is the MX lookup on the email inspector. When you run that check, the domain part of the address, and only the domain part, is sent to Google's public DNS-over-HTTPS service at dns.google to retrieve mail exchanger records. Google's handling of that request is governed by its own privacy policy. If that service is unreachable, the same domain is sent to our own resolver instead, where it is used for the lookup and not stored.

The contact form

When you submit the contact form we receive your name, email address, subject and message, along with the IP address of the request, which is used for rate limiting. We keep that message only as long as needed to answer you and to maintain a record of support correspondence. We do not add contact form submissions to any marketing list.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting records standard request information: IP address, timestamp, page requested, referrer and user agent. These logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are rotated on a short cycle.

Cookies

Validmailbox does not set its own tracking or analytics cookies. Cookies present on the site come from our advertising partners, described below. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from their settings; doing so does not affect any tool on this site, because none of them depend on cookies.

Advertising, Google and the DoubleClick cookie

• Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

• Google uses the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, for European users, at youronlinechoices.eu.
• Third party vendors and ad networks that we do not control may also serve ads on this site and set their own cookies. This policy does not cover their practices, and you should consult their own privacy policies for details.

Your choices under GDPR and CCPA

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because the tools store nothing, in practice this applies to contact form messages and server logs. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, write to us through the contact page.

Where consent is required for personalised advertising, a consent notice is presented before personalised ads are served, and your choice can be changed at any time from that notice.

Children

This site is a technical utility for people who administer email systems. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revision date at the top of the page changes with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
